The NPNG Game
The following are downloadable PDF files that you can print on your own computer and be playing NPNG right away! Click on EACH of the following lines to download each section of NPNG. You should also go to the tab labeled "Articles" and check out the "Pitching Options". It may help you decide which set of boards to use and how you wish to play NPNG -- since there are several options available!
NOTE: The 2013 version of the Std and Quick Play Game Boards have NO new or changed plays from the original version. There are typo fixes and re-wording of some plays. The cover page is new.
Game Board Cover Page
In case you want to place the original cover page on the new boards, here are the covers:
11" x 14" Game Boards
To clarify a little, these 11 x 14 game boards are the same as the NPNG Main Game Boards and NPNG Quick Play Boards above. However, the format is different. The standard boards are in 8 1/2 x 11 format. Many of us enjoyed using 11 x 14 boards years ago. I thought I would bring them back and make them available to you at no charge. I hope you enjoy them.
Since these files are PDF's, they are able to be sized to your liking. However, they were created for 11 x 14 boards. The print is Calibri 9 point. That's as clear and large as I know to make it for readablility and still get all plays on the boards.
You can take these files to your local print center and have them printed on 11" x 14" card stock. You can mount them on 11" x 14" foam board or mounting board, front and back. That will give you four boards with all eight base situations. Since you have control over the printing and mounting of these boards, you can set them up in the old standard sequence: Bases Empty / Runner on 1st, Runner on 2nd / Runner on 3rd, Runners on 1st and 2nd / Runners on 1st and 3rd and Runners on 2nd and 3rd / Bases Full. Or you can set them up in any other base situation order you prefer.
You can find foam board or mounting board in a few thicknesses. Not to push any particular companies but our Office Depot and Hobbie Lobby had everything I needed to set these boards up for myself.
Creating the boards gave me another reason to really comb through the NPNG game boards where I did find a few typos and rather unclear descriptions, etc. I have corrected those and will eventually update the existing boards also. There are two files for 11 x 14 boards -- one for Standard NPNG play and the other for NPNG Quick Play. If you find errors on these boards or if you wish to share your good or bad experiences creating them -- but hopefully mostly positive tips on how to create some nice and useful game boards, please share them on the forum at:
